Junior Game Programmer
Viridian is seeking a talented Junior Programmer with a strong foundation in C++ and/or C#.
The successful candidate will work closely with our development team to design, implement, and maintain high-quality video game titles and technology.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with some programming experience to advance their career in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Hours/week: 37.5 hours
Work Hours: 9.00/10.00 to 5.30/6.30 (Flexi-Time), Monday to Friday
Salary: €30k per annum
Start Date: 24th February 2025 (Flexible)
About the Role
Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior developers to understand project requirements and objectives.
Write clean and efficient code in C++ and C#.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Assist in the debugging and troubleshooting of issues.
Perform unit testing and ensure software quality.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in C++ and C# programming languages.
Basic understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Understanding of software testing principles
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

Experience writing unit tests

Does Viridian Software allow work-from-home?
Work from home is not permitted during first 3 months of probation period unless there a special circumstances. After three months, employees can work in a hybrid model with 3 days per week in office unless agreed otherwise with senior management.
